POSITION:
MEDIA SPECIALIST (10 Month)
(Anticipated Opening for the 25/26 School Year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Valid NJDOE Certificate: School Library Media Specialist (SLMS), Educational
Media Specialist, Associate Educational Media Specialist, or School Librarian
Successful experience in library media center organization, administration, and
management
Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and
written in the English language.
Demonstrated ability related to collection development, information technology
and library program designs for children and adolescents
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal
resident alien status
Evaluates, selects, and requisitions new library materials and equipment in light
of the needs of staff and students and current trends for school media centers
Schedules and manages Library/Media Center Operations at CMT/CMCSSSD
Prepares and administers the library budget
Meets the health requirements of all personnel
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To develop and coordinate educational media services and
assists teachers and students in the effective use of the media center as a learning
resource to support the school’s curriculum.
