Who can attend Cape May County Technical School?

  • All residents of Cape May County are eligible to attend Cape May County Technical High School. We have arrangements with Atlantic and Cumberland Counties for special circumstances that allow students to attend our Technical High School as well.

What is Full Time Technical High School?

  • We offer all academic courses such as English, Math and Science that prepare students to go onto college as well as CTE - Career Technical Education programs that can lead to employment right after graduation.

What is the cost of attending the Cape May County Technical High School?

  • The Cape May County Technical High School is a public school so there is no cost to residents of Cape May County. Bus transportation is provided by the local school districts.

What is Cape Tech's Career Exploratory?

  • Career Exploratory consists of a rotation through four exploratory technical classrooms that every incoming 9th grade student experiences.

    In addition to exploring all of the technical areas offered, students receive specialized training in:
    • Computer skills
    • Job skills
    • Life skills
    • Study skills
    • Thinking skills
  • Each technical area class provides multi-media experiences relating to the career choices listed in the course outline. These learning experiences allow every student to sample each career program of study offered in the 10th, 11th and 12th grade occupational programs and investigate related career options and pathways. The exploratory classes will enable students to make an informed specialization program choice for their technical/career major.

Can I go to College is I attend Cape Tech?

  • Yes, most of our graduates that do not go directly into a job in their trade go on to attend a college or university. Our Guidance Department helps with finding a college and any financial aid that can help students attend the college of their choice.

Is is possible to take a tour of Cape May County Technical High School?

When will students be given their chromebook?

  • Incoming students will be given their Chromebook within the first week of school.

When do students take honors placement exams?

  • If an incoming freshman would like to take an honors-level course in mathematics, science, english or history, please call 609-380-0200, ext 2603. Testing will take place June 2-4 between 4:00 and 6:00 pm

What if a student wants to test out of Level 1 World Language placement?

What if a student performs poorly on the honors exam?

  • Students, along with their parent/guardians, can fill out a course waiver in the guidance office.

Are the summer programs mandatory?

  • No, however, they are strongly encouraged to ensure student success as they acclimate to high school.

Does Cape Tech offer any programs over the summer to accepted incoming students?

  • Yes.  A FREE Hawk Transition program during July from 8:30AM- 12:30PM, Monday-Thursday is available to all newly accepted incoming students.
  • Hawk Transition will be held at Cape May County Technical High School. Transportation for this opportunity is provided. Details are emailed to the parent/guardian to register. This program offers new students the opportunity to tour the building, meet new friends, meet the staff and begin the transition to high school with hands-on activities infusing Math/English skills.
