Practical Nursing Application Process
Optional - Free TEAS Test Prep Classes
To prepare for the test we offer free TEAS preparation classes, available both in the morning and the evening. Call 609-380-0200, ext 3451 for more information. Students can earn a free TEAS test scholarship.
Step 1 - Pre-Entrance Testing - TEAS Test
- The TEAS test must be taken in person at the Cape May County Technical School District in our testing center. The cost of the test is $100. We will not accept tests taken online or at another testing facility.
- The school accepts TEAS scores taken at our facility up to two years prior to the Practical Nursing program start date.
- The school will use a superscore, averaging up to three TEAS test attempts. Applicants must wait a minimum of three weeks (21 days) between exams to allow adequate time for remediation and studying. During this waiting period, applicants are encouraged to take advantage of the school’s free TEAS preparation classes.
- A minimum TEAS score is required for admission to the program.

Step 2 - Informational Session
- Every applicant should attend an informational session.

Step 3 - Application
Students who submit sufficient TEAS scores to the admissions office will be eligible to begin the application process. The Admissions Department will communicate via the email address provided to the school during TEAS testing.
- Complete the online application by the prescribed deadline. The link will be provided to you via email.
- Submit a copy of (not original) High School or State Diploma.
- If an applicant does not have a copy of their high school/state diploma, please contact their high school or the state to request an official transcript be sent to us.
- Please note that foreign diplomas MUST be evaluated and translated by an approved New Jersey Department of Education Agency and be equivalent to a U.S. High School Diploma before submission. Ask our Admissions Office for a list of acceptable vendors.

Step 4 - Acceptance Packet
If an applicant is offered admission, they will receive an application with the following information. If the applicant decides not to accept the seat, please let us know so we can offer the seat to another candidate.
- Health and Drug Screening must be completed at the student’s expense no earlier than June 20, 2026, and submitted to the admissions office by August 20, 2026.
- Health Assessment and History Form (completed by the student and medical professional)
- Immunizations are required to participate in clinical experience and include: rubella, rubeola, varicella-zooster, mumps, hepatitis B, Quantiferon -TB, and tetanus (within 10 years). The flu vaccine is required and will be provided on campus. COVID vaccine is not currently required. If the requirements change before or during the program, students must provide proof of vaccination.
- Drug Screening Information Form: You will be required to submit a negative drug test result.
- Background Demographic Form- Completed and Signed
- Copy of CPR Certification. Applicants must submit a copy of their card. Please note that certification must be valid for the length of the program. If certification expires during the program, the student must recertify to remain eligible to continue. CPR certification costs are the student's responsibility
