Hospitality
The Hospitality Program provides students with hands-on experience in the preparation, service, and managerial tasks involved in the hospitality, travel/tourism industry. Students will prepare for entry into the industry with a comprehensive overview of food/beverage, travel/tourism, lodging, recreation, marketing, social media, accounting, human resources, ethics, law and management, while gaining experience in planning, organizing and executing school and community wide events - many featured at Cape May Tech’s six-room hotel, 250+ seat conference center as well as the 60 seat student run restaurant. Additionally, students in this program will explore and witness various successful businesses within the hospitality cluster.
Students Will
- Gain knowledge and skills in leadership, management, communication and productivity.
- Learn the social impact of travel/tourism, the impact it has on their own communities and the skills necessary to plan and market the tourism industry.
- Explore a wide range of job opportunities within the hospitality industry through internships, guest speakers, field trips, and other interactions with industry professionals.
- Successfully plan, manage and facilitate multiple events within Cape May Tech’s state of the art hotel,conference center and restaurant equipped with the tools and techniques needed to be successful in the industry.
- Receive dual credit for multiple courses from postsecondary institutions.
