School Based Youth Services

The School Based Youth Services Program (SBYS) at Cape May County Technical High School is a safe place to talk about life, school, the future, and more!

The goal of SBYS is to provide students with mental health & wellness services, mentoring to navigate their high school years, and education to develop positive habits & life skills for the future.

SBYS is open to all students enrolled at Cape May County Technical High School; conveniently located in RM 355.

SBYS Services

Mental Health
  • Available weekly counseling sessions with our LSW
  • Daily supportive counseling availability
  • Access to Mental Health Screening
  • Positive Action
  • Drug/Alcohol Support
Lunch Lab
  • Daily in either SBYS (Rm 355) or across the way in Rm 3, students may bring lunch, relax with peers, and participate in staff led group discussions, and sessions hosted with NJ4S bimonthly!
Assistance
  • Students have access to utilize a completely free thrift store, Hawk's Closet
  • Private bathroom supplied  with feminine products
  • Access to water and snacks throughout the day
Personal
  • Class/Homework Time: students may use our space to do work and organize themselves
  • Space Space: This space welcomes all students a place they can find tools to get through the day!
Social
  • Jam Sessions: Co-run with guidance counselor Mr. Roesch, Bimonthly
  • GSA: After school group held meetings
  • Movie Nights: Monthly showings hosted by Us!
  • School and Community events.
