Allied Medical
Allied Medical Studies is a program designed for students who display an interest in the healthcare field. This program offers a carefully sequenced composite of college-level coursework, maximizing the availability of college credits for students. The intent of this program is to encourage entry into community colleges, state colleges and universities, and to ease upward career mobility.Students will learn about the history of healthcare and how it functions, ethical practices, safety and infection control, various careers in the field, medical terminology, as well as anatomy and physiology. Graduates can participate in clinical site visits throughout their enrollment. Through partnerships with various community medical offices, hospitals and care facilities, this program can potentially provide future employment opportunities for students.
Students Will
- Learn in a state of the art classroom complete with a hospital bed.
- Receive CPR & First Aid certifications.
- Receive dual credit from post-secondary institutions.
- Utilize hands-on opportunities to include not only theory but also practical application and laboratory work.
- Explore a wide range of job opportunities within the healthcare industry.
- Participate in clinical rotations within the county for hands-on experiences which could lead to internships.
