Program Description
The Medical Assistant program at the Cape May County Technical School prepares the student to meet the requirements to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). Successful graduates will be able to sit for the CCMA exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Be part of an exciting new program coming in September 2023 for students to learn theory and skills that will launch an exciting career in a growing healthcare field. CCMAs work in a variety of locations, including medical offices, outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, hospitals, and other healthcare sites. There are many employment opportunities available for students to explore.

Prerequisites
- High School diploma or equivalent (foreign transcripts must be evaluated and translated)
- Passing the CASAS test
- 18 years of age or older by October 15th of the enrolling year

The Medical Assistant program is a part-time, 10-month, hybrid program that runs from September through June. Classes will meet virtually on Mondays, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, and on-campus Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 am to 7:00pm. Chromebooks, skills kits, and clinical uniforms will be provided. Clinical hours may vary depending on the clinical site and are a requirement for program completion.
